Q: How does Win Squared work?

A: Win Squared defines "negotiation" broadly to include the common activities of buying, selling, persuading and resolving conflict. Negotiation is a process by which two or more parties seek to exchange items on the basis of perceived value. Leverage results from finding the right techniques, during the right activity, to alter the other party’s perception of value.  Win Squared finds the best techniques to increase the perceived value of your item, thereby leading to a better deal.

Q: What are the "techniques" recommended by Win Squared?

A: The techniques in Win Squared are all of the actions and statements that businesspeople and consumers use every day to affect each other’s perception of value. For example, inspections, demonstrations, endorsements, samples, testimonials, guarantees, and contingencies are but a few of the commonly used techniques used to increase perceived value.  Win Squared identifies and defines more than 600 techniques. The key is to know which one, at what time, will be most successful.

Q: What kind of transactions will Win Squared handle?

A: Win Squared will handle any two-party transaction.  In Win Squared the "items" to be exchanged can be anything, including objects, actions, a relationship or money.  For example, Win Squared has built-in samples for sales, human resources, real estate, legal, political, consumer, and commercial transactions.

Q: How is Win Squared different from other negotiation programs?

A: Other negotiation programs help you prepare by giving you a checklist of things to think about. This is a good idea, and Win Squared does it.  Win Squared goes beyond other programs, however, by providing recommendations and predictions for your individual transaction. Further, in addition to standard debate techniques, Win Squared includes an entire section on how to sell your proposals.

Q: Does Win Squared take the place of books and seminars?

A: No.  Win Squared complements other resources, not replaces them. Win Squared’s interactive nature provides a way to practice and apply the knowledge gained in books and seminars.  Further, Win Squared’s extensive database, which identifies and defines more than 600 techniques, provides a common reference for tying the other resources together.

Q: What is the minimum configuration required to run Win Squared?

A: We recommend:

  • Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP or NT 4.0
  • Pentium processor or equivalent (133 MHz or higher recommended)
